What We Do

We educate, train and engage artists as activists to create digital content for in school workshops and live performances for learning on diversity equity and inclusion, implicit bias, and undoing racism.

 

Interested youth audition to become a cast member/ ambassador for the 9 month program.

The program begins with a 5 week summer intensive introducing participants to social justice curriculum, leadership development and professional workshops with industry professionals.

 

Throughout the school year, participants rehearse and collaborate on stories within the focus issue to be filmed and/or performed at various schools.

Urban Artivists facilitate and deliver digital content and lead classroom performances on social justice issues to create space for young people to participate in dialogue, provide a common knowledge and language and introduce tools to transform the world directly around them for better.
